Why GrowPro Kikuyu for Nowra lawns
Built tough. Grows strong.
GrowPro spreads through a network of surface runners and underground stems, so it fills gaps and recovers from regular activity throughout the growing season. Its naturally dense growth creates a strong, attractive lawn that competes well with weeds while giving families, pets and active outdoor spaces a durable surface to live on.
Made for the Australian sun
GrowPro thrives in sunny locations, which makes it the natural choice for open backyards, acreage properties around Nowra, Berry and the Shoalhaven hinterland, and parks and recreational areas. Once properly established, its strong root system provides good drought tolerance. During extended dry periods the lawn may lose some colour or slow its growth, but it recovers when moisture and favourable conditions return.
Fast growth. Great recovery.
One of GrowPro’s biggest advantages is its vigorous growth through the warmer months, which helps new lawns establish quickly and existing lawns repair everyday wear. Growth slows in cooler weather, and winter colour varies with frost, temperature and local conditions. Regular mowing through spring and summer keeps GrowPro dense, healthy and looking its best.
Grown here, not trucked in
GrowPro Kikuyu is grown locally by Ryans Turf, a family business that has been supplying and installing lawns on the South Coast since 1995. Local growing means your turf is cut fresh, travels a short distance and is already adapted to Shoalhaven conditions before it reaches your yard.

Supply, installation and care
Supply-only or fully installed. Order fresh-cut GrowPro Kikuyu rolls for your own DIY lay, or let the Ryans Turf crew handle the lot, from measuring and soil preparation through to laying and the first watering. For large areas and acreage, ask about bulk supply pricing. Either way, the quote is free.
Local delivery. We deliver across Nowra and the Shoalhaven, up to Kiama, Shellharbour, Wollongong and the Illawarra, and down to Ulladulla and the South Coast. Pick-up is also available from our farm at 65 Coolangatta Road, Coolangatta NSW 2535.
Getting it established. GrowPro establishes fast in warm weather. Lay it on prepared, level soil, water it in well and keep it moist until the roots have taken. Once established, regular mowing through the warmer months is the main job; Kikuyu grows quickly, so a weekly mow in peak season keeps it dense and tidy. Seasonal feeding and sensible watering will keep it strong. Ask our team for a simple care guide when you order, or browse our lawn care range.

GrowPro Kikuyu Turf FAQs for Nowra Homeowners
Is GrowPro Kikuyu good for dogs and kids?
Yes. GrowPro is well suited to active households. Its vigorous growth repairs the everyday damage that comes with dogs running laps and kids playing, so worn patches fill back in during the growing season.
How fast does GrowPro establish?
Quickly, when conditions are favourable. GrowPro spreads through surface runners and underground stems and grows vigorously through the warmer months, so a spring or summer lay knits together fast.
Will it grow in shade?
GrowPro is a sun-loving turf and grows best with plenty of direct sunlight. For yards with shaded areas, ShadePro Buffalo is the better choice. If your block has both, we can advise on the right variety for each zone.
How does it handle dry spells?
Once established, GrowPro’s strong root system gives it good drought tolerance. In extended dry periods it may lose colour or slow down, but it recovers when moisture and warm conditions return.
Does it stay green in winter?
Growth slows in cooler weather and winter colour varies with frost, temperature and local conditions. In the Nowra area most GrowPro lawns hold reasonable colour but will not grow much until spring.
Is GrowPro a good option for a large block or acreage?
It is one of the best. GrowPro is an economical choice for big lawns, acreage, paddock-edge areas, parks, ovals and recreational spaces where coverage, toughness and value matter more than a fine ornamental finish.
Do you install, or just supply?
Both. Order rolls for a DIY lay, or book our crew for full installation. We offer a free measure and quote either way.
Where do you deliver GrowPro Kikuyu?
Across Nowra and the Shoalhaven, including Bomaderry, Berry, Vincentia, Huskisson, Sanctuary Point and Ulladulla, plus Kiama, Shellharbour, Dapto, Albion Park, Wollongong and the Illawarra. Pick-up is available from our Coolangatta farm.

Thank you to Ryans Turf. Jackie was very helpful and knowledgeable when we purchased our Sapphire turf as we were advised great for kids to play on. It made it easy for us to drive from Nowra as we placed our order over the phone and they cut it that day for us to pick up in the afternoon. The grass was so fresh, lush and thick. Thank you so much. Mark and Kel.
I am so impressed with the whole team at Ryans Turf Nowra. I requested a quote for 40m2 of Kikuyu Turf and received a response from Jacqui within the hour, along with a very competitive price.
I confirmed my order with a very jovial and helpful, Peta, in the office and received the product within two days and at the precise time that I had been given. The quality of the turf is unbelievable. (Like it was just harvested on the day of delivery). The delivery driver could not have been more helpful. He had a very friendly manner and placed the turf exactly where I requested him to place it. Don't look anywhere else. These guys are great. Thank you.
